Sustainable Apparel Sourcing: Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration Beyond Compliance and Transparency - 15th December 2017

On behalf of the organizing committee of the annual Bangladesh Development Conference at Harvard University, it is a pleasure to invite you as a speaker at the 4th Annual International Conference on “Sustainable Apparel Sourcing - Multi-Stakeholder Collaboration Beyond Compliance and Transparency”, to be held on Friday, December 15th, 2017 at Harvard University. The day-long event is being organized by the International Sustainable Development Institute (ISDI) in association with South Asian researchers and academics based in Boston.

 

The December'2017 conference is expected to bring together Bangladesh garment industry experts, NGO representatives, practitioners from development agencies, and high level policy makers and government officials from Bangladesh, Europe, Canada, and the USA. Participants will include the representatives from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Alliance, Accord, international clothing brands and retailers, workers rights groups, international labor organizations, United Nations agencies, and representatives from international financial institutions.

ISDI welcomes papers and presentations dealing with aspects of the global economy, garment industry, trade and development in the context of Bangladesh apparel and textile industry and the role of international community and development partners. Directions From Logan Airport

If you are flying into Boston's Logan Airport, use the subway or take a taxi from the airport to Harvard Square, Cambridge.

 

By Taxi

Taking a taxi is a convenient way to get from Logan Airport to the Harvard Graduate School of Education. The ride takes about 20 minutes and the fare is approximately $30-$40. Ask the driver to take you to the The Harvard South Asia Institute, 1730 Cambridge Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.

 

By Subway

Go to the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) website for a subway map and schedule.

Take the Silver Line (MBTA bus/subway) inbound to South Station. The Silver Line has a stop located outside of all terminals.

At South Station, get on the Red Line northbound toward Alewife Station. Take this train to the Harvard Square station.
