Bangladesh Rising 2018 - International Conference at Harvard University

We are glad to announce the 8th International Conference on Sustainable Development in Bangladesh to be held at Harvard University, Boston, USA on May 12, 2018 organized by ISDI - International Sustainable Development Institute, USA in collaboration with Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

The Economist reported last September that it is "a good moment to celebrate Bangladesh’s economic progress. Its annual growth has averaged more than 6% over the past ten years and has run above 7% over the past two.” More than celebrating, Bangladesh Rising conference will discuss how Bangladesh can maintain its momentum, and potentially accelerate the growth achieved in the last decade.

This annual event 'Bangladesh Rising 2018' is devoted to the development of Bangladesh and it gives the participants a platform to exchange ideas, discover novel opportunities, broaden their knowledge and devise strategic action that can overcome the existing challenges for the sustainable growth and realize Bangladesh’s potential for further economic development toward becoming a middle-income country.

At this year’s conference, we will focus on to showcase the trade & investment opportunities that Bangladesh offers to the world. International academics, business leaders and policymakers will demonstrate the access routes for investment, Bangladesh’s strategic potential, success stories of inward investment and discussions on how to stimulate trade and improve the country’s infrastructure.

With keynotes, case studies, panels, workshops, and diverse networking opportunities, attendees will deepen their understanding on the new era of the global trade and cooperation, and the role they can play in the delivery of essential changes needed.

ISDI welcomes papers and presentations dealing with aspects of the global economy, sustainable development, trade and technology in the context of Bangladesh and the role of international community and development partners. Should you wish to participate in the conference in a session, evaluate papers which are to be included in the conference proceedings or books, contribute to the editing of a book, or any other contribution, please send us an email: mohammed_yousuf@dfci.harvard.edu.
