Achieving SDG - Sustainable Development Goals through Entrepreneurship, Commerce and Investment

Welcome to the International Conference on ‘Achieving SDGs - Sustainable Development Goals through Entrepreneurship, Commerce and Investment’. The day-long event will be held at Harvard University on Friday, May 12, 2017 and is being organized International Sustainable Development Institute (ISDI), Inc. and South Asian researchers and academics at Harvard.

The objective of this year’s conference is to bring together policymakers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs from around the world to accelerate the growth of Bangladesh through entrepreneurship, investment, and commerce - a powerful mechanism for alleviating poverty and for generating prosperity toward achieving the SDGs. These three interrelated notions can help enhance the development of the country and at the same time empower women, laborers, and the rural economy. Through the encouragement of entrepreneurship, the visionaries in the country will develop local solutions to the unique problems the country faces. Through appropriate and creative investment and capital formation, the projects that require funding will be undertaken. Finally, through commerce and trade, the country will be able to achieve economic growth and exploit its comparative advantages. In this conference, we will explore the steps required to encourage three vital facets of the development goals.

The deliberation will explore how the development partners can more effectively facilitate and assist in solving the key challenges for sustaining the development of Bangladesh. How to enhance the role of international community and experts for practical solutions will come up for discussion.
